The Archaeological Museum of Milan is located on the area between via Nirone , corso Magenta, via Luini and via Ansperto, corresponding to the ex-Monastero Maggiore area (VIII-IX century). The area is one of the richest archaeological sites in the city with Roman, late Roman and medieval remains, preserved even in elevation. The most important remains are those of a Roman Domus of I century, portions of the city walls and a polygonal tower of the III-IV century and the second tower of the late Roman circus.
