The Ename abbey starts in 1063 in the former Ottonian palace building that had a chapel dedicated to Our Lady. Hence, the abbey is also dedicated to Our Lady. In 1070, this abbey is replaced by a new abbey, dedicated to Our Lord as Saviour.
