3D master model of the of the Madonna of the Pisa Cathedral, Pisa, Italy - 1mm resolution - 3D model generated through Triangulation Laser Scanning, triangulated surface mesh at maximum resolution (8 millions of triangles) - Geometry only. 3D digitization, model creation and photos by Visual Computing Lab, ISTI-CNR, Pisa. Digitization campaign for the Opera della Primaziale Pisana, to create metric documentation before the restoration of the statue. The Pisa Cathedral, located in the Miracle Square in Pisa, is a five-naved cathedral with a three-naved transept, and is the modal of the so-called "Pisan-Romanesque" style, often found in the area. The Madonna statue, once on top of the Cathedral facade, is now in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
