Images of 3D model of statue of Eros with dolphin
Immagine del modello 3D del gruppo statuario di Eros con delfino (MANN, inv. 6375). Utilizzato come ornamento di una fontana, il gruppo rappresenta un fanciullo alato, posto a testa in giù su un delfino dalla cui bocca aperta fuoriusciva l'acqua. La composizione è complicata dall'attorcigliarsi a spirale della coda del delfino intorno al corpo del fanciullo, di cui rimangono libere solo le gambe nella parte più alta. Il motivo di Eros che cavalca un delfino è noto nell'arte greca a partire dalla metà del VI secolo a.C., specie nella ceramica o nelle arti decorative.
