Image of the Paphos Gate in Nicosia, laser scanner in process
This image was taken at the site of the Paphos Gate and it depicts the Surphaser 25 HSX hemispherical 3D laser scanner in process. The exit of the tunnel leads to the modern part of the city, outside the walls, while on the left and on the right of the gate there are the two Venetian corridors. The one on the left is now with stairs. Both of these corridors lead to the entrance of the portal. Finally, as it is displayed on the picture, the space above the tunnel today facilitates the buildings of the Paphos Gate police station. On the right hand side of the picture there is also the National Guard guardhouse which is now abandoned. The picture was taken during the 3D scanning session of March 2014.
