Lunigiana Stele - Groppoli 1 master 3D model
3D master geometric model of Stele Statue #1 of the Groppoli group - Model generated by Triangulation 3D laser scanning, raw 3D data processing and surface creation done in MeshLab - Triangulated surface mesh at highest resolution (7 million triangles) - geometry only.
3D digitization by Visual Computing Lab, ISTI-CNR - Collaboration between ISTI-CNR and the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Toscana, for the digitization of a group of Stele Statues to create physical copies to be re-located in their original place of discovery.
Dating back to the bronze age, the Lunigiana stele-statues are a part of the pan-european megalithic culture. This group of statues was found in Groppoli during roadworks; they are now located in the Mulazzo town hall and in the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Toscana laboratories.
