Badia Camaldolese, Volterra: 3D model of the virtual reconstruction of the Church in 1888. The church of the abbey complex is now a ruin, with missing roof and partially standing walls. This reconstruction is based on the current 3D survey and historical data. Manually modelled using CAD software, using solid modelling techniques. Then. exported as a triangulated mesh for rendering and interactive visualization. CAD DWG format: layers with architectural elements, parametric surfaces. PLY format: triangle mesh. 3D digitization by Visual Computing Lab, ISTI-CNR - Survey carried out in the framework of the ArTeSalVa Project, aimed at the study, documentation and enhancement of historic buildings currently in a state of decay or underused. The Camaldolese abbey complex was built around 1030. It was enlarged and decorated between the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned in the middle of 19th century and in the last few years it has been partially restored. The church, now in ruin, is still a focal point of the complex, and is used for outdoor events.
