Funeral enclosure within the Rotunda precinct, which contains the tombs of two people, Hortaci Süleyman Efendi and a certain Yusuf Bey. The sheikh of the nearby dervish community, Hortaci Süleyman Efendi, and the Ottoman Sinan Paşa converted in 1590-1 the building into a mosque named after the first. The enclosure is one of the additions made in the monument, when it was converted into a mosque that are still visible today. The Rotunda was built at the northeastern part of the city, close to the east city walls. Its location was previously an uninhabited, sparsely built area, which was added to the city during the 3rd century fortification. The building is located on the axis of the road that was leading through the Arch of Galerius to the royal palace to the south. It was actually connected to this Arch through a monumental colonnaded way and consequently to the palace.

Name Digitisation of Rotunda
Description The 3D data collection phase (fieldwork) of the monument included terrestrial and aerial photo shooting of the monument. For the terrestrial photo shooting session a DSLR Nikon D40 at 6.1 MP with an 18-55 mm lens along with a tripod has been used. On the other hand, for the aerial photo shooting session, a remote controlled helicopter has been used. The UAV was equipped with a three axis pan-tilt-roll remote controlled camera head (360o on the horizontal axis, 220o on the vertical axis and a rolling ability of 600). A DSLR Canon EOS350d at 8.1MP with an 18-55mm lens has been used for the aerial photo shooting session. The total number of photographs that has been used for the generation of the 3D model of the monument was 652 (469 terrestrial photos and 183 aerial photos). The average distance of the camera from the monument’s surface was estimated at 4 meters
