The Bank of Charity building is located in the Metropolis Square in the old city of Xanthi. It is a two-storey building of simple construction and it is characterised by symmetry in both sides and floor plans. The north-east side of the building faces to the main square. This side carries four windows, two at each floor, positioned on the same vertical axis. Between the two windows of the upper floor, there is a balcony made of ornate ironwork. On the northeast side, there are four symmetrical placed windows, again two in each floor. The main entrance of the building is located on the south-west side of the building and thus it is not particularly visible from the side of the square. On the south-west side a small courtyard exists. The Christ’s Ascension chapel is located in this courtyard. The exterior relief decoration is found between the openings of the facades.
