|
The medallion depicts the profile bust of King Philip of Spain, crowned and in armor parade. The effigy is framed by a wreath of flowers and fruit and two concentric moldings for ova and classic arches (kyma ionic and lesbian). Everything seems to be hanging on the wall by fluttering ribbons held in the mouth of a mask of a bearded man. Philip I, know also as Philip the Fair, was king of Habsburg, Archduke of Austria and king of Castile, son of Maximilian I of Habsburg.
